There is a awesome addon to save masks in sculpt mode.
It hasnt been updated in 5 years. Still works, but is throwing error in 4.2

The masktools_b410_ver4-2-3.zip file from Gumroad seems to work fine in 4.2 for me.
ah,ok. maybe it’s the powersave addon then. It only produces an error when i disable and enable it again.
