I’ve developed an addon that enables you to append a material directly within the shader editor, complete with ground mixing and height mixing capabilities.
Maybe this will aid you in your material process.

(small note: Ground mixing relies on object coordinates rather than geometry proximity.)

I’ve updated the addon to version 1.2
New Features:
Added control object to adjust the min/max value (gif with higher quality)
New function to apply changes to appended materials
And I have reworked the UI added some utility functions
Should work with Blender 4.2 or higher
