[Addon] Tileable Pattern

Uh, yeah, I’ve looked at those. Spent the better part of my day trying to get them up and running.

Gave up.

Ten characters.

@unkerjay:
RefzGrid is only the Grid Referenze to see the overlapping better.
Join the new objects with “Add Planes or Add Curve” objects.

For Mesh:

  1. add planes > it jumps directly into editmode
    then:
  2. delete the plane if you don´t needed
  3. and add a new mesh from the insert panel
  4. the new mesh appears in each instance
    or:
  5. do not delete the plane and go to objectmode
  6. select the object you need and the middle field as active (outliner: instance fill)
  7. Now join them toghether with CTRL+J
  8. your new object appears in each instance
  9. if you don´t need the plane mesh : delete it now
I will show you that in new demo clip…

Thank you very much.

That clears it up for me.

With a little help from your addon, Freestyle, the Freestyle Exporter, (Inkscape) and this:

Stereographic Lampshades using the Blender API

I can create this (using Torus Knots (Mesh)):

or this (multiple planes):

More than just patterns.

3D Art. 3D Printable.

Great work! And thank for the info!
I will definitely take a look at the lampshade addon.

Here is also:

#Update 3 - small reorder / new panels & color managment panel to uv editor

till next…

I have seen that we can do some work directly, without joining to the instances.
1 > place a object in the middle.
2 > cut it out if needed (rename it to Instance_Fill)
3 > apply scale and rotation
4 > add arrays to it.
5 > !non overlapping: add a single vertice to x or y to correct the array offset
I will check this out in the next update 4…

This addon is really cool for tileable geometry! Still working on that new update?

Not directly, but it will be updated when i added it to github:https://github.com/mkbreuer

Dude this add-on rocks! Now I can make my own tiled alphas for sculpting  Thank you very much!

With a little more experimentation I think this add-on will greatly improve my workflow. Thanks again for making this!

Thanks for showing some of your how-you-use-it-work!
