Hi!
For some projects I’m forced to model in different programs than blender. But I still use blender to render. The problem is, that as the project evolves the model changes and as I import a new iteration to blender I have to go through all of it to apply the correct materials to every object. Its a tedious time consuming workflow.
Is there any way that blender could recognise that an imported object with materialX should not be assigned materialX.001 but rather inherit the blender material which I set up when the first model was imported with the same name? That way every time I import a new version blender would automatically apply the correct materials?
Thanks for your time and input!
