[Addon] yPanel: Tools for realtime asset creation.

Finally, after more than one year of development, I present you yPanel, addon that helped me create characters and assets with realtime materials. It contains many tools from layer manager, baking tools, and many more. Just see videos below to see what it does.

yPanel download: https://www.github.com/ucupumar/yPanel

PART 1: INTRODUCTION
This video explains what yPanel is, addon installation, addon locations, some custom panels and keymaps.

PART 2: PAINT SLOTS
This video explains yPanel paint slots, which can be used as image layer manager in Blender.

PART 3: MATERIAL OVERRIDE
This video explains yPanel Material Override, which can mask your model to see only it’s diffuse, specular , or normal value.

PART 4: BAKE TOOLS
This video explains yPanel Bake Tools, which can be more convenient to use than the standard blender bake. Its also support antialiasing.

If you have bug report or anything to say, you can use this thread or just post it to the github issues.

This addon is free but currently it only support Blender Internal and Blender Game. If you want to help further development or perhaps like my artworks, you can support me on Patreon:

Amazing stuff. I saw the previews on Twitter and fully expected this to be a paid add-on  Will download and try out soon.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

ill be your first patron

I just feel like my addon will be better if its free.

You’re welcome! :eyebrowlift:

Thank you so much for this! I really really appreciate that!

Nice to have more game development focused stuff in blender, very much appreciated!

Really cool stuff there! wish I have opportunity to do some modeling and painting soon ill definitely use this!!

Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing work !!!
Now we have layers in paint mode, finally !!!
Thanks

I like the idea, good addon, thank you for your work,.

I think this is going to be a new favorite. Great job! I can tell you put a lot of thought into the usability. I would love to see bake support in cycles so we can get cage support and anti-aliasing.

Thanks for this good addon

This is epic! Thanks for allowing us to use it.

Hi… I’m having an issue, maybe something really weird and impossible to happen to somebody but still…

That appears when I try to bake. :frowning:

Thanks for all the kind words! Really appreciate it!

Cage support is still cycles only, so I need to add cycles baker first, which is not a simple task. I’ll lookup into this again in the near future.

Can you provide the blend file so I can test it here?

Even I’m not going to use it as I’m doing nothing realtime by now, I must say it’s an incredible contribution. I’m pretty sure it will help so many indie game devs. Well done!

Thanks José Sena for the kind words! I hope you can have fun with this addon!

New update for yPanel!
I just implemented new feature to convert images/paint slot to use other UV.

This feature is useful for those who like to just use quick unwrap and start painting. Most of the time quick unwrap produce bad UV but useful enough for painting purpose. You can always create new UV map with better layout and convert all your paint slots or images to the new UV.

Here’s an image to help illustrate you about this feature.

I hope you like it!

nice one, congrats

Error!!!

is it possible to have option for extra panels … like i dont want that small arrow thing on top bar and on viewport bottom bar … is it possible to have option for that ?

Just found this, looks amazing, thank you for this add-on, the best texture manager I have found for painting so far!
