Admin or pro please read!!

i have a rough idea as to how normal maps work but i’m having trouble finding resources on blender’s capacity to make/view real time normal maps.

does blender have a per-pixel shader built in or an available plug-in?

is there any way to create a normal map for a low-poly mesh from a high-poly mesh without exporting to another program that i don’t have?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
