Hello everybody so I been learning blender and I create my haircards following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYLgPZM-7D0 Now I have the following maps for my haircards: Alpha, Albedo, base texture, normal, AO and heights. The tutorial use an addon wich I bought (hair tool) but the method he used is no longer suported by the addon (does not support old curves) so I want to know wich method is best to start placing my haircards.
You can load your card object into the Particle System as Hair by changing the Render path to Object.
Before hitting the hair tab after creating your particle system. May want to switch the hair count to 0. You can scale the original object.
Under Render Properties - Settings -Film - Check transparent.
Thats new to blender 4.something… May be important.
Also If you scale the particles to about the same size as the chosen scale for the instance object that will help. You can use the “comb” brush to Edit the direction based on the particles as instance origins.
You may want to use right click “rekey” and set the number of keys to 2 or 3 because this could otherwise get confusing.
Otherwise convert to mesh and do any further editing in edit mode by moving vertices Rotate Move/Grab Scale.
Object Mode - Active Object (select your character) - Right click - Convert to - Mesh
But it depends what you feel like runs best.
