Hello,
in times of AI it most probably a waste of time to still modell everything from scratch and by myself if I want to be efficient and the quality of topolgy is not of interest at all. Clients can’t see this in Videos anyway…

So are there any good open source / free 3D Model generators out there perferably as a addon plugin directly in Blender?

So far I lived under a rock regarding AI doing far too much 3D Art… lol

I don’t think Ai will be able to expect free of charge anymore in the future. :relieved:
There are some paid Addons for the blender, but it won’t be satisfactory.

Well there are great projects like stable diffusion or Gemini Images are free too - is there nothing like this for 3D Models?

Oder wenn bezahlt: Offline per GPU und für Einmalkaufpreis wäre nice. Ich nutze es ja nicht unbedingt jeden Monat. Abos kommen für mich nicht wirklich in Frage.

EDIT: Oh Sorry english here: Of if paid, are tehre any local options for the GPU preferably for one time buy price like in the good old days… no more subscriptions for me.

Ai training data is stored on your PC.
It’s a low level of completion, but because it uses images, it’s possible to trick the eye.

I know there are several Blender addons similar to the one in the attached video.

This video explains one of them (paid addon).

Moin. Can you post some example Blends and their prompts please? How complex can the model be made or is it limited to one liner prompts?

3D model generators currently fall into two camps:

  1. They give you something that looks roughly right but is a completely unusable lump of million+ tri topology.
  2. Exactly the same as 1 but it’s actually just slave laborers making the useless mesh and pretending an AI did it.

Source: my boss tries every few weeks to get AI 3D models. It does not go well

Now if you do product visualization I think it’s not yet the time to switch to AI auto-generation for that.

Those generators do cool things but they aren’t that accurate, I’m pretty skeptical that it will work… At best it can be used as a placeholder while the final is being modeled. But personally I’d use some blocking out model for that…

But feel free to prove me wrong , it’s interesting !
