Aircraft Concept Showcase-finalizing

This is a scene I’ve been working on for a short while now. I feel that I’m nearing the end, so I want as much advice and critisism as possible. I’m going for a realistic scene of an aircraft model being showcased at an aircraft manufacturing company office room as a possible new plane to produce. Of course, the aircraft model in this scene isn’t a concept, it’s a Learjet 35 which has been around for a number of decades. Although the aircraft is older, I want the scene itself to seem somewhat modern. I don’t want to include any characters in this scene because I want it to feel empty in that regard. …not to mention my inability to model people. I have included my latest render, a screenshot of the scene within blender, and the blueprint of a Learjet 35 that I used to model the aircraft in the scene. Keep in mind that the plane in this scene is supposed to be a model, so it doesn’t need the intricacies that a real aircraft would have. Although, if you spot anything you really feel I should add to the aircraft, please let me know. I am rendering an update of the scene with more overhead lighting, but I’m not sure I really like it, so once it’s done, I’d like your feedback.

I have no real critiques (as i’ll leave that up to the more experienced artists), but rather just an observation from a casual viewer’s standpoint.

I know I am supposed to be looking at the model airplane, but that painting is so intricate and interesting that I find myself just staring at endlessly rather than the plane.

(wonder if this is happening to anyone else or maybe I’m just a weirdo who likes boats )

Yeah I think the painting is attracting to much attention. Maybe put up some kind of logo instead?

I would imagine you are right about the painting. I wasn’t able to notice it myself as I have been so focused on the plane and being a pilot and aviation enthusiast, I get tunnel-vision when I see a plane. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll see if I can find a suitable logo, but I might just put a different picture up instead. One that is less of a distraction.

Display models often have hero lighting to draw attention to them too. A couple of spot lights or up lights from beneath.

great idea! never thought about it. thanks

And a little plaque underneath with the name and specs printed on it.

You could put those sketched views of airplane, or some other blueprints/tech. drawings instead of painting. Not sure if it would improve but might be worth trying…

The room seems a little dark. put in a couple more lights

agreed, but not in the whole room, I like the atmospheric light but the display piece needs more of a spot light to bring it to the center of attention. If it were me I would add a couple of can lights to the ceiling not much two or three should do. other than that the display needs a plaque or a pedestal with a plaque on it.

I am struggling as to what to say about the painting because I like it but does draw too much attention away from the plane. I think a little DOF on the painting, and the spotlights on the plane should fix the attention problem. And for the sake of realism you should add another can light focusing on the painting, but not nearly as strongly lit as the ones on the airplane.

Best of luck to you noobman0101.

I apologize for going so quiet so quickly. I have finals soon. After that, i’ll be free for the rest of December (when i’m not flying), so i’ll work on this more then.

work on the texture of the chairs they seems unrealistic and the plane needs a more interesting texture
