AIs Without Python Knowledge

Hello,

I don’t know if this is the right place for it so I’ll plow right ahead. I have an idea for object seeking, object avoiding AIs without having the creator a python brainiac.

State 1
Always >> AND >> Steer (is that the right name) towards property.
Ray looking for AIObs >> AND >> State set to 2.

State 2
Always >> AND >> Movement to right or left.
Ray inverted looking for AIObs >> AND >> State set to 1.

And it works! I use it already!

Here’s a blend for you to find out more. The directions are the arrow keys. Jump is num 5, speed is num 4, fire is num 6. No scripts required!

Start the file called Level_abstract.blend with BlenderPlayer. It’s inside Levels.

A bug is delaying the files…

Thanks,
Hero

u can also just creata a navmesh (or more then 1). then avoided obstacles set to obstacle (physics nenu), go to world turn on obstacle setting. the object that needs to avoid obstacles also needs to have obstacle turned on. Always-and-steering…on path follow, select mesh and done. now they avoid anything that has the obstacle turned on.

Unfortunately nav meshes tend to be very high-poly. Therefore it is inconvenient on slow computers.

just make them invisible

Another idea is - attach a cone to head invisible or alpha-map etc,on sensor, on collision -TrackToTarget, apply forces to move,
Or armatures and torque
