Alembic Animation Stuttering

I am generating a fluid sim in houdini and writing to a monolithic Alembic file.
When I re-import it back into houdini it plays smoothly.
However, when I import it into blender, the animation stutters.
i.e. every three to several frames it holds a frame of the alembic animation.
I double checked that the frame rate matches between houdini and blender.
Has anyone else experience this, and have a fix?

Could you post a video of it? I suspect maybe there is some floating point or rounding issue in the frame lookup calculation. Maybe also open a bug report with all the necessary files attached (if you don’t want to share some file publicly you can PM it to me).
