Alembic mesh sequence cache modifier hides materials when visible?

yea so im using marvelous designer to animate clothes cause blender physics SUCK AS$ (as they are right now)

and im importing my mesh as alembic as well as exporting it as alembic
but it seems i have no access to materials?
i have exported an identical mesh in form of obj that has materials etc and linked it up

if i disable the mesh sequence cache then my materials will appear and everything will be perfect… but every time i enable the sequence it just makes all my materials and uv maps non existent WHEN I CAN SEE THEM RIGHT THERE IN THE MATERIAL TAB

Hi Gloria, did you figure it out? I’m having a similar problem when linking textures to an imported animated mesh.
