This car won the 1938 Mille Miglia. It is owned by Dr. Simeone in Philadelphia. A nearly identical Alfa which finished the race in second place is owned by Ralph Lauren. The value of each car is more than $20 million (USD). Alfa Romeo only made six of these Mille Miglia chasses, and all received bodies from Carozzeria Touring.
I still have some interior parts to create and assorted odds and ends to finish. These are all rendered in Luxrender. I want to play with the masonry generator and the ivy generator to make a Roman ruins setting.
Here’s a little update to this project. Instead of Luxrender I did these with Cycles. Blender Internal has its strong points, but Cycles looks way better. Even with multiple textures and an HDR image, the nodes are easy once you get used to them.
