Alright when I set smooth my mesh these lines appear and I’m wondering what I’m doing to cause this effect, I just started using Blender a couple of weeks ago and I know most of the functions and terms but i have no clue why im getting this effect. The fist picture is the undesired effect, the second one is subsurfed, and the thrid is a wireframe if that helps?
It looks like some of the face normals are inverted. In Edit mode, Select All and hit CTRL+N => Recalculate Normals. It happens sometimes that the software doesn’t know which way is up(or rather, out).
odd arm… just out of curiosity, what kind of alien are you planning to make?
