Just something I stumbled upon while goofing around. Have a guess at how I made it, it’s the simplest thing in the world to model.
That could be some cool alien lookin’ greeble. Do tell if nobody tries to guess your technique. (I haven’t a clue and have no time to experiment).
Don’t ya just love it when you stumble upon something cool? Magic.
.
Hey, that is great. PacMan -esque, but with a touch of technological alien.
Well done.
I also don’t know how you did it. Please share.
This is going to sound really cheap like a magician revealing how the trick is done, but here goes:
Subdivide plane 6 times.
In edit mode, space bar>select>random (50 percent)
Delete selected vertices
Subsurf level 2
Halo material with halo size 0.01
That’s it.
You can also make rocky lump type things without sculpting by selecting 50% of the vertices on a UV or icosphere at random, scaling a bit, then subsurfing.
[Edit] Here’s a desktop sized version, I’m using it right now.
[Edit 2] I guess this works on other meshes, too…
ooh, ooh…can it be animated? MATRIX!
sorry. cool effect, can’t wait to try it out.
here is what i made AN EVIL NANO TECH SUSANE
haha, that’s sweet
I just love the Blender Tests section
