i used a (for me) complete new modelling technique, which worked quite well. the hole modelling process was never hard. it was so easy that it amazed me again and again.
tutorials and the model is available under the top-most link of this post
Looking at that wire…you did a very good job. the only comment that I have .it would be nice to see this finished with a texture similar to Giger’s paintings (which were airbrushed) instead of what the movies did to his concepts.
anyway. I LIKE IT.
that is one amazing model!
superb work!!! I don’t like the transparent blue, though, I would rather have seen a dark slimy kind of texture.
great job!

PS: on a sidenote, why does everybody here think that your work needs to be of good quality to be on cgchat? It’s a great place to learn, for both newbies and experienced people.
if i may remind you…
the mesh is based on this plastic model. the hand of the queen got 6 fingers and also got a lot of stuff normal “human” hands dont have.
and btw…
the queen in the film has exactly the same hand (even if the fingers are much thinner than those of the plastic model)
to all others:
thanx for your comments. they make me think, that it was no waste of time doing it with all the details
Very impressive. However, one of the things I loved about the queen in the movie was the way it moved (more specifically, the way the jaw and face moved). Will you be doing that, too?
Hey dude, looks awsome. As soon as you have it rigged, we need to colborate. I’ll throw in my alien Warrior, and someone can build a few dozen eggs for us. Do a wicked littel animation to showcase blender?
