For the game I’m making I’d like the camera to align itself an unspecified unit length along the top normal of the player object with a bit of a delay. I played around with some constraints but couldn’t achieve the effect so I decided to try python. I’ve done stuff like this before in my own engines but I don’t know the api well enough to find the answer. Is there any way I can get an object’s facing normal so I can get the top normal to orient to?
Basically I just want the camera to hover perfectly top down onto the player. Parenting doesn’t work since the object is spinning and the camera spins too. If there’s an easier way to do this without programming it I’m all ears.
i.e. Any way to get the directional vector/normal of an object?
