Alignment question

After making some cuts into my mesh I noticed slight shadow when I apply smoothing seen in image 1. I think this is because the verts moved a bit but I could be wrong in any case is there a way to align the verts to get rid of the shadow or dose this require something else?

3D view window shading mode is really not like rendering it. It uses vertex shading, I believe. Vertex shading is very quick and good for real time shading and its not super accurate.

If you really like to smooth it out in 3D view, just use “Edge Split” modifier on the object.
