hey guys, i need some help. my blender file became 600mb all of the sudden! I save versions, and the files went from around 9mb to 600mb! The things that changed: I added a particle system (when i delete the scene with the system the file size stays ruffly the same), I simulated about 200 dominoes (i had done this before and just re-did it, but when i did it before the size was 9mb), and finally (that i can think of) I added more scenes, but I chose link objects. would this do it? linking 200 objects, each with keyframes on every frame? and even if it was it is only like 10 more scenes, the math doesn’t add up… part two of this is how do i fix it?
the reason i ask is that i need to upload this to a renderfarm because it takes about an hour per frame, and 6000 frames… but it is a no-go with this size.
I think that is the usual standard for a physics simulation that large. Whenever I did it I always got a huge file size for only one scene (600 dominoes though).
that is what i’m wondering, i added another scene, but i added the new scenes with the link objects, and i’m wondering if that took the baking files and duplicated them
Did you really link or did you append?
Did you use any Mesh deform modifier?
Did you pack your data files: textures,…etc, if so, a small parcel would appear in the top window (User Preferences) header after the menus. To unpack, reach in the menus: Files > External Data > Unpack into Files
