hey, i made this landscape, with no image textures, only procedurals, mainly just to see how well i would do, it took about an hour modeling and texturing, and about 5 min rendering. as i said there are NO image textures, and NO pp.
any suggestions would be gladly appreciated, even though i consider it a finished project!
Now small trick for wather and ground. Copy your meshes and move it a little up (next layer;). Than use alpha with multitesturing (8 layers at one surf) with alpha + env map and nor. You can ofcource mix *.so with env map, bevel and common images at one surface and do it again and again…you can get an effect of n x 8 f.e. 32 layers of texture at one surf;) (of course there 'll be min 4 copies of your mesh:).
skeletor, you have a line (a seam? can’t be, this is procedural) running down some of your hills on the left. What caused that? Mirrored meshes?
On the whole, not a bad start, but I’d like to see more detail in the land parts… it seems like your texture stretches over the surface a bit. Maybe play with the size and bump and add a few more textures to it to randomize color a bit more.
Modron why are you posting your work in someone else’s thread? Yeah…it looks procedural alright…but what is it?
Just trying to entice skeletor to use a few more texture layers, deSoto.
what is it? it’s a textured ball.
By the way, I asked you a question in your thread, and you never answered, so why are you now asking me questions in skeletors thread?
If you don’t care for my sparkly ball, ignore it. You seem to be good at that.
