Alligator on Sewage - (2016 - 3Ds Max) vs (2025 Blender)

This is a kind of personal chalange. I did the alligator scene in 2016 using 3Ds Max and Octane render, then I decide to recreate the scene with my current knowledge and using Blender and Cycles, to see how far I evolve since then.

For the first scene I have used Real Flow to simulate fluids. Now I am using Flip Fluid Add on in Blender, as well my own tool, Easy Water Generator, to add extra details like extra waves, object ripples and the upcoming interactive objects.

For adding extra texture details, like rust, dirt, and water leaking, in all objects I also have used my tool, Easy Texture Creator. It was a great help on building quickly the realism I wanted to my scene. Also with the help of Simple Bake Add on on creature and some scenario details.

For animation, I have used the add on Animation Layers, which I really think It should become default in Blender because, for more that I like NLA, there is no comparison in how simple and easy is to deliver desired animation using the add on approach. The other solution would be, in my opinion, to have a node based animation system, but that is another topic.

I hope you guys like It and don’t forget… Happy Blending!!
