For my first organic model, I decided I want to do a dinosaur, prehistory buff as I am and have always been. I decided to start with Allosaurus 1. Because it isn’t a very well-known dinosaur 2. Because it was a theropod 3. Because it was the first dinosaur that popped into my head.
theropods walked on their toes, with the 4th claw(basically their “big” toe to compare to a human) well off the ground so your feet will need some modifactions…if you want a good reference point go bird watching most three toed birds will also walk on their toes
It’s starting good. Keep checking references, which are a big part of 3D modeling, specially if you’re going for realistic.
Like SDSJap said, keep in mind the proportions, or else you’ll end up with a cartoon style saurus.
not sure if it will help but here is a trex i did a loooong time ago not the best render but gives you some ideas i hope… i could post wires if you would like
Another update:
Made the neck longer and more snake-like, another Allosaurus characteristic. It was also my first attempt at the legs on this model, and they definitely need work.
looking good…but bring the inner neck down in a manner that will give the impression of a throat(airway etc) right now its sunken in so your dino looks like a vacuform lol
