Hi!

This was a scene I did mainly to learn particle systems and creating models from 2d images.
I thought I might as well try to make it look nicer and render it out.

I do have an issue though, which I hope you guys can help me with.
As you can see in the render, there’s a forest in the background which I used a hair particle system to create, however after either reopening the model/assigning it to a collection, I can no longer see that particle system of trees.

I have circled them out in the screenshot, that area is supposed to be filled with trees. I’ve tried a lot of stuff and online solutions but can’t find a fix to it. All the settings are the exact same and nothing has been changed, the particle system settings are all there too, just nothing shows on the viewport

Also, how do I get better looking water
This ended up looking like wax, I tried so many combinations and things!

Any feedback or help would be appreciated!

About your forest issue…a few things spring to mind: one is you turned down the viewport display for the particles (but then that would mean a certain percent of the max trees would still be visible, whereas in your screenshot there’s none.) Another is you accidentally turned the particle system off in the viewport but left it on for rendering. :man_shrugging::man_shrugging: Wild guesses here.

As for the water, try this:

I found it a bit overkill, and there’s bound to be easier or simpler ways of faking realistic-looking water, but it’s not bad. Definitely a nice method or trick to have in your back pocket, should you ever need it.

Ah thanks but I looked at both of those. You can see in the screenshot that both the particle systems are on in all views. I’ll keep looking at stuff and hopefully find out why the whole thing’s not showing
That water would definitely work better than my wax-y water
Thanks a lot!
