Alpha affect shadow shape: is it possible?

i just want to know if blender now support the possibility of use a image with alpha channel to affect the shadow shape.

In other words, I have a plane with a smile face texture applied to it. This image have a alpha channel that hides everything but the smile face, however, when I render I can see a shadow with the shape of the plane.

Thanx!

put TraShad on MAT of the object which receives the shadow and MapTo of SmileMAT with Alpha and Mul

it not works with area lights for me
why?

groundPlane like this :
MATShaders: Traceable, Shadow, Trashad

ShadowObject with TEXImage(F6) .tga (with alpha-inside) UseAlpha

(F5)MapTo Col, Alpha, Mul
Shaders : Traceable, Shadow, MirrorTransp : ZTransp
(Alpha, juste if you want !)

I feel stupid right now :expressionless: I understood that the “trashado” button was a property of the object that projects the shadow and not of the object that receives the shadow.

Thaks a lot, LOD!
