alpha over comp + help

I’m playing about with the compositing nodes and I can’t do a simple alpha over - which is easy to do in the sequencer. Could anyone give me a hand-

or would it be a good idea to post blend files or images to should node set-ups for different perposes!

also -in the CVS build - is it possible to change the avi codec-

• is it possible to load dv footage – I can’t do it - is it just me or what?

Make sure you output a compositer node and not the veiwer node, works for me
