Alpha Texture...Say what?

So, I followed the tutorial on the blender.org website and everything a long time ago. I’ve tried to make alpha maps but even the images that were with the tutorial created a white ring around the object. Why is that? It does it with every image. What am I missing?

Dont know why it does it, but I had a similar problem when I was using macromedia director I created a featherd edge with the selection tools in photo shop and those white pixels went away have you tried a higher bit alpha map ie 16 bit or 24 bit

Try using ‘Premul’ in the render settings

I believe I have tried the higher bitttttt. It’s been a while. I make everything in Photoshop CS4. I will have to try that, as well as pressing premul!! Thank you. :3 I will let ya’ll know if that works.
