In 2.79 to select an edge loop you just hold down Alt and click on the mouse button. But in 2.8 this does not seem to work. The only way I can select edge loops is to select an edge, go to the select tab, scroll down to the select loops option and choose edge loops. Needless to say this can be a very tiresome process if you are continually having to choose loops.
Is there a way to add a similar shortcut to 2.79 in 2.8 ?
Hi, in edge mode select loop with Alt+Shift+LMB.
They change keymap to industrial standard, there was a chart with all changes but cant find it right now.

Thanks. Tried that but still no joy. I am starting to wonder if it is this laptop. The Alt button does work because I can use it for other things , just not for selecting edge loops.
Are you using the “Emulate 3 button mouse” configuration? If so, edge loop select is double-click.
