Alt-Shift-Click not working

I was following a tutorial on Youtube about 2.8 and one of the things I needed to to was select a ring of faces around an object using shift-alt-click but when I try to do this it does not work. The only way I can achieve this is by selecting a single face then going to the Select drop down menu > edge loops > edge rings. This is fine for just a single loop of faces but if you need to select several along the length of an object it is a bit of a pain.
I have checked in the user preferences and shift-alt-click is there but I cannot seem to get the keyboard shortcut to work.
Just wondered if anyone else had this problem and if there is a solution or is it just a bug that needs to be sorted before the full release of the program.

Seems to be working fine for me. Which version of 2.8 are you using?

Hi, sorry for taking time to answer, been at work all day.
This is the info on the splash screen showing the version of 2.8 Beta I have -

Date- 08.03.19 21.52
Hash- a0f2923fd821
Branch- Blender 2.7

It`s a pretty recent build. I did notice a newer version has already been uploaded. Might try downloading that to see if there is any difference.
