Am I doing well for a 15 year old who has been using Blender for a week?

I started looking up tutorials about a week ago for Blender, and I’d say I’m pretty damn passionate about 3D modeling, considering for the past week I’ve done nothing at all besides tinker with blender. I’m not quite sure how my progress is compared to others who’re learning Blender, so I’d like some comments on a few models I’ve done. They don’t have any textures or anything yet, as I’m still learning how to do it. I compiled them all into an Imgur album because I just didn’t want to stick four images here. I just want to know if I’m doing alright for someone who has been practicing for a week. Thanks :spin:

I think you are doing just fine keep it up and start making wip threads here for help if you need it

Sorry, for some reason I can’t see your models because I cant get to that website for some dang reason. I am curious because I was 15 when I started and I’ve been at it for a year, and I always want to know how I measure up compared to how long other people have been using Blender. Are you thinking about a career in CGI? Anyways I’m always up for helping people that are in the same boat as me. Honestly I would go through a ton of Blender Cookie tutorials because then you get to learn a lot of different things and you will learn faster if you follow them along. To be encouraging, I didn’t make anything decent until about 8 months in, and I used Blender pretty often, but after that things picked up a lot. Good luck

I’ve thought about it, but I initially started Blender to make models for video games. After seeing Sintel, I became much more interested in CGI and the like. I’ll just put the pictures on the thread to make it easier for people. And thanks.

Sorry for all the images, but who cares?

sure, not bad for a week. Not sure if you have previous experience or not, but Keep it up!

No previous experience, and thanks XD

Okay, you know how to use the spin tool. Now try to learn something else.

Pretty good for a week. Pick one of the light sabers you have done and post some wireframe pictures of it. If you go into edit mode and take some shot with solid shading on it should be fine. Post those here and you will get some help on making them better.

If you are learning Blender always post wire frames shots and post them not when you have completed you object but as you build it up. This will allow those that want to give you advice and help to do so early on.

good work and keep it up

Nah! you’re too old to be a padawan

Seriously you will like blender so much, keep training!

Spin tool?

I haven’t been using the Spin tool, I simply got a reference picture online, put it as a background image, and extruded and scaled.

I’m 15 too and I would never get to that level in a week :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re doing great keep it up!

Don’t be hard on yourself, this was easy as hell.
Thanks though! :stuck_out_tongue:

Best thing i did was follow tutorial after tutorial. I really stopped religiously watching tutorials right after i did the mini world.
