Ambient occlusion not working on objects that were converted to mesh by curves

Hi there,
I kept having this problem I couldn’t find a solution for.

Basically, whenever I convert a curve into a mesh, the Ambient occlusion node just doesn’t work as it otherwise usually does to objects that were modeled by hand. How do I fix this?

(Ps. all I did for the model on the right was use a svg, give it geometry by extruding it in the curves options, and then converted it to mesh. The cube on the left is just a default cube with the same material for comparison)

oops just realized that the ambient occlusion node was relative to size, I just had to turn distance option on the node to a much lower value which fixed it, also texture resolution seemed to be effecting, it my bad.
