Hello all! I was excited to learn that 2.75 has finally added support for my GPU to render. So I downloaded the new version and tried it however it keeps crashing without an error report or anything I have tried both 32bit and 64bit and the same thing keeps happening. Blender says when I start the render “loading kernels may take awhile the first time.” but then just shuts down blender. My GPU is AMD FirePro V4900 any ideas on how to get it to work?
From memory, the V4900 does not have GCN on it (Graphics Core Next) … which is required for cycles to work on AMD cards. GCN was introduced in 2011, so cards which were released after this date ‘should’ have it.
