AMD ProRender a replacement for CUDA on macOS?

Hi there,

over the past days I played with ProRender and while it looks promising and is advertised as a possible alternative to CUDA since NVIDIA will not further develop it for macOS it seems to me that it is still more a test render engine that a fully useable tool.

What is your opinion? Any deeper experience?

I don’t have any deeper experience to offer. I can only echo that after playing around with it, I too find myself not ready to make the jump, due to the “alpha” nature of ProRender. Installing it, alone, can be a chore.

I believe a new version is due (soon?). Were you able to evaluate it in 2.81?

I was able to make to run on win10 blender 2.81.
