Guys, I’ve realized that I don’t know s*** about modelling. Thus, I set about to model the simplest thing I could think of. An old fashioned car. (coupe).
After 3 hours (unbelievable…) i finally came up with this. i had to use blueprints
So here’s the hood and the front window. I’m working on the bumper, etc, right now.
I would greatly appreciate tips and C&C. I’ve seen mostly awesome stuff on this forum, and half of them are sculpting thingies.
Hey, am not much of a car modeller myself but so far u started good and btw using blueprints is exactly the way to go
especially when it comes to something like a car, ofc if u would aim for something like a concept car u could just do freestly (more or less) either way good start so far and if u would show next time some wireframes, this way u could get some better help regarding the body structure.
So a car is the simplest thing you can think of eh? lol what about a pencil? or dishes/glasses/bottles - super easy to model! If you are just starting to learn modeling start with those then move on to complex stuff like cars…esp if it took you 3 hours to model the hood… which should have taken you one minute tops!
Ofcourse if you are going to start modeling a car better to start right, i made a tut on how to properly set up your references for modeling cars so check it out. Another thing is topology is key to making a good car model, so again if you do not have the basics down it will be tough/take way more time than it should to get your car looking good.
But hey whatever you decide best of luck to ya, and we shall try to help.
DDD, righto. Should i start a new thread? Maybe just I’ll try doing a water cycles
Thanks, all of you
DDD, add me as a friend, I shall need more ppl like you lol.
I concur. Start with something small and work your way up to bigger and better things. But as long as you have references and tutorials for you to follow. You should be done in no time flat.
