Anamorphic art. Reflection of a 3D object (Cone)

Hello. The cone is an interesting figure, and to create such an illusion we had to work a little with the topology of the object. Made with standard Blender tools. Thank you for your attention.

Hello, I am taking a course in university about optical illusions and I thought this work was really awesome. I wanted to possibly make and 3D print something similar for an in-class demonstration. However, I don’t have much experience with blender. I have done some rudimentary anamorphic things with cylinders and the simple deform modifier. Is that somehow done through that same way? I just don’t understand how you got the object to look like that. Also, does it only work with a specific angle for the cone? I’m really sorry for bothering you, I just find this work fascinating and would love to know more.

I would see if you can get a copy of the book: “Hidden Images, Games of Perception, Anamorphic Art and Illusion” by Fred Leeman

It discusses exactly what you asked…

That is very clever, well done! I like it.

Hello. Blender has powerful tools for simulating optical laws. These illusions can be realized using geo nodes, without additional external tools. What I know, I can tell you what direction to go in
