Hi there. been a while without posting…stucked on Zbrush…though, every time, Blender renders!!
I’m working on this girl (first modeled in Blender, then painted and a little bit sculpted in Zbrush from Soréphène’s design:http://sorephene.wordpress.com/).
As maybe i’d like to animate, i left a little bit Cycles for Freestyle (thanks Smess and Edgard Figard for excellent base videos!). I also enjoyed so much the quick-easy-potatoesfrom clouds of Andrew Price!!. so here it is, in progress…
guys! many thanks. i’m happy i have spent time on freestyle tutorials. it helps. my animation skill still do not deserve cycles…though i’d like to share this simple trick: do wings with mesh deform modifier!!! i did one feather, duplicated as necessary. did another mesh for the top of the wing. After that, did a cube extruded to fit the whole wing, some loops to make it deform a cool way, 5 bones armature…and that’s it. Don’t forget when you have duplicated wing+armature+mesh deform and mirrored them, to use the same action than the other wing. you’llfly easily!
Unfortunately I can’t view your video, says it’s private. Is it still available somewhere? I would love to see what you mean, my Blender skills aren’t so good yet that I understand from your description.
Awesome, thanks for the really quick response! I don’t mind figuring out the exact setting myself, at least now I understand how you use a low-poly mesh to deform the high-poly wing using mesh deform modifier. Good job, inspirational!
