AnimALL missing in 278a WHAT THE !!

Ok many years ago 3dmax could animate textures. I see that animall is required to animate textures ? I found a experimental package add on for blender called animation_animall.py but hey I just watched a video showing that ver 260 had it built in. WHAT the heck! Am I using a dumbed down package that wont let me do anything. ? I waisting my time learning blender. ? I chose blender in hopes that the code would not be used to play games as its open source.
Either this program will animate everything or it wont but if it does not then I need to move on to some other package if features like animating a texture are removed.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-U to enter the user preferences. In the “Addons” tab, just check AnimAll to enable that addon.
Perhaps a little less hyperbole next time?

Not sure if you actually need it. Care to explain what exactly you are trying to animate?
That would surely be more productive than pointless rants, wouldn’t it?

When you first ran 2.78 did you select the option on the splash screen to copy your previous settings ?
If so, you wouldn’t have to re-enable the addon and setup your personal preferences

Blender cannot animate ‘everything’ (even with the animall addon) so it sounds like you should therefore delete if from your computer and choose an application that better meets your needs.

OK IM Bad I admit. This was a misunderstanding on my part. I see now when I go to user prefs Animation: AnimAll IS present. where last eve I DID NOT SEE IT and I went searching for it and NOTHING NO Animation:AnimAll. But it is in FACT PRESENT in the user prefs and it DOES make the AnimAll menu come up as it does in the learning videos.
After a lot of searching around I did not find anything. I totally mis-interpreted the situation. Please forgive my rant.

I am trying learn how to animate the movement of a texture on a mesh - learn all about it and what can be done.

I was just looking for AnimAll in 2.8, is it incorporated?

The answer to my question is here;
