animate in 3d or 2d

is it easyer to animate in 2d or 3d im not sure on what to do.

In my humble opinion, if you are willing to make a simple animation of one or two character, it should be FASTER (not easier, notice) to make it in 2d, with a soft like Flash, for instance.

I’d say 3d is marginally easier if you have neither 3d or 2d skills and are just starting out.

For something simple, like a character sitting down, or turning their head, changing their facial expression, it might be slightly easier / faster in 3d (Blender) if you’re using a completed rig like Mancandy or Ludwig.

But even to make that look good, or something more complicated, like a walk or other motion will take a lot of hours tweaking the IPO curves (animation motion graphs).

If you’re starting from scratch, building and rigging your own character, the process will take even longer.

2d animation requires drawing skills, which will take a LONG time to develop, unless you have more than average drawing talent. Even with good drawing skills, you’ll have to manually draw the ‘in betweens’, whether that takes longer than tweaking 3d animation curves, I’m not really sure.

thnks for that but really i want to stick with using blender im just not very sure on how to animate do you know of any VIDEO tutorials.

This is yet another thread in which you’re asking basically the same question. There is no simple answer. It’s like asking if red is better than blue?

Which is easier depends on what you know and what you’re capable of and what equipment you have, can obtain or are capable of learning to use.

I gave you a link for learning Blender. You’ll see it again below. It’s not a video tutorial but it is just about the best piece of useful information you’ll find.
