Where can I get a free GIF maker? I tried Yahoo and AOL’s search engines and Yahoo’s directories, but they didn’t work.
I want to be able to animate GIFs at a certain frame-rate (if that’s possible).

GIMP with GIF support.
you are only suppose to download the GIF support if you are not in a country where the LZW patent is valid.

uh oh, i sense an overly extravagant avatar…
More than likely, you could be right.
Theeth: I have no clue of what that is. Anything else? I might check out the GIMP, though.
I used Paint Shop Pro version 5 through 7. Very good program on it’s own, but also comes with animation studio which is a Gif animation thingie
I use Yahoo, is Google infinitely better?
in one word, yes.

in one word, yes.

No, they’re the same.
Err, Yahoo just changed their search engine, but previously, yahoo was powered by Google.
Edit:
I checked them, they’re STILL the same.

No, they’re the same.

well duh, that’s because yahoo uses google’s search engine.
why settle for a copy when you can use the original.

Cause copies are easily accessed from my My Yahoo page.
Well… go to www.yahoo.com, then www.google.com, and you’ll notice a stark difference (Yahoo is extremely cluttered, Google is nice and clean). Then there’s the ads in the searches… I just looked at Yahoo, and their text ads look almost exactly like the search results. On google, the ads are smaller, have colored backgrounds, and most are in the right border, outside of the area that results are shown. Those are just a couple of the asthetic qualities of Google I like better than Yahoo (and you never know… Yahoo might just try to set up their own engine, or switch to a different one, and you’d no longer benefit from the Google).
Plus, you can get the Google bar. I got the Google bar, and I use Google as my homepage.

Oh… what dictionary ya’ll use? I just switched to www.m-w.com from www.dictionary.com. The Merriam-Webster site seems to be a bit more comprehensive (a few words I’ve looked up were found on m-w, and not on dictionary)… and that is even without the subscription service “unnabridged” version.

Or find an alternate source that would allow you to do the same, ain’t there a linux attemp to make something simerler ?
photoshop elements
None of these have been helpful, since I did my minimal amount of looking and found that most cost money. If I liked spending money, I’d use 3DSMAX, but I use freeware instead.
So, let me try to get this straighter:
Where is some free software that would allow me to make animated GIFs? (I’ll search Google. Maybe.)
GIMP not free? What kind of planet are you from?
Martin
Microsoft Gif Animator is free from Tucows etc.
