Animated gifs?

Is it possible to make an animated gif using Blender. If so how? Or is there a conversion program that I could use?

there are many program that can convert AVI files to animated GIFs.

Try Animation Shop by Jasc (Paint Shop Pro), you can download a fully functional trial version for 30 days. Though when i downloaded the trials of PSP it would say 30 days, but it went for 60.
But it makes good gifs from avi, check:

I used After Effects. Mind you it is fairly expensive, but it does GIFS and a lot more.
