Animated Lamp: Alight Ye Lightly

Greetings,

I have just recently finished animating a course project dealing with lamps. The section was inspired by the Pixar lamp, so we modelled and animated lamps, being free in design and animation/storyboarding.

Everything found in my animation was done by me, including most of the pictures in the picture frames, and the drawings on the sheets of paper- I either made them blender, or drew them by hand, except for the hands- those were edited to look drawn. This is my first jab at animating anything 3d. My 2d experience are limited to stickmen and dictionary corners (400-500 pages worth) when I was a child. And the occasional stickman and flash animation as a teen.

The original project was supposed to be 10 seconds long at 30 frames/second, so about 300 frames long. Mine ended up becoming over a minute, at 2730 frames/second. This was about 9 hour render at samples 16 plus denoise in cycles, or 30 minutes in Evee.

While this project is deemed “complete”, it is till very much in the rough, missing polish and sound. I am showing this project here as a thanks, since I received help from this community while working on this course project (Kudos to @walt1).

It was suggested that I use camera bloom for the Evee render. That will be something to consider.
