How can I anim the Material Specular IPO in game engine?

but if you use a sphere envmap texture for a simulated specularity you can animate it. set its faces to obcolor (and add mode) and animate the ColR ColG and ColB ipos of the object.

to create that mesh probably select all in your object, duplicate (shift+d, edit mode), and scale up by normals (alt+s) a smidgen so that it appears infront of the rest of the mesh. if you are not using 2.32 which saves the selected verts in an object, press p to make that it’s own object (so that it is easier to select so that you can add that texture to it.

also of note is that doing this will animate the strength of your reflection, not its hardness
