Animated Short: Fugue

At the request of one of your fellow Blender-users, I have uploaded a teaser of an animated short that I’m working on. It’s going to be titled Fugue. I hope you enjoy it.

http://www.iamsane.com/soren/film/fugue_teaser.mpg (size is about 8 MB)

Everything is done in Blender, except for the video editing (sequencing), titles, and music. Oh, and I composed the music for this, too… except for the “stingers” near the end.

Research “dissociative fugue” for more insight on the underlying story.

*edit: added file size

Nice work on the rain effect. The splashes on the road are a great touch.

My only thing is that the text “Fugue” stays on the nscreen for way too long. You could have had it fade out after all the letters appeared instead of having each letter dissapear. That is a minor thing though.

Looks like this is going to be a nice anim as well. Keep up the good work.

looks very promising

I agree with BgDm about the text.

The beginning of the movie could also use some editing. Instead of the sudden burst in of the scene, you could make it a nice fade in.

I’m looking forward to the movie: atmosphere seems great.

Happy blending

Thanks for all the replies so far! (although, I’m a bit surprised to get only 2 out of 90 views :stuck_out_tongue: – but I suppose there are reasons for this)

I guess there’s not much there for you to comment on in the first place. As for the two issues mentioned here, I used them both intentionally for mood and effect… maybe it’s not too apparent (and thus needs changing). I think I’ll probably shorten the length of the title display now.

Anyway, I really appreciate anything you guys have to say. I consider you all to have good advice on this sort of stuff. More to come soon!

it looks ok, nice rain, nice splashes

got that right =)

what kind of mood will you set by leaving the text on way too long?
