Hi all,
A while back I downloaded a blend file from somewhere, I can’t remember where. It’s a demo of how to get objects to “float” on the surface of an ocean. It has an grid object with a few animated cloud textures to create the ocean, and there’s some empties that appear to be controlling the animation of the textures. To make the objects float on the ocean surface, the person who created it made a curve, and that curve is being dynamically conformed to the animated ocean surface. The “floating” box simply animates along the curve, so it moves up and down with the motion of the water.
Does anyone know where I can find out more about this process? I’m a noob to Blender, and I can’t entirely reverse engineer what’s happening in the project. I’d love to see some kind of explanation for whats happening in it, or be able to ask the creator of it some questions.
If it helps, the file I downloaded was called “ras_curve_conforms_to_wave_1a.blend”
Thanks for any leads!
Sean
