I have animated textures in my Cycles scene and would like to see them updated in the viewport. If I’m in the Rendered viewport shading, then I can see the proper animated texture for the frame that I’m on. However, in the Material and Texture viewport shading modes, the animated texture tends to stick to a random (?) image in the sequence and doesn’t change when the frame changes. The Auto Refresh checkbox is checked for the animated texture.
I’ve seen posts mentioning that the Auto Refresh checkbox works in the game engine, which is not helpful since I’m working in Cycles and want to stay in that mode.
Is there something that I’m missing? Or are animated textures just not supported in Cycles Material and Texture viewport shading modes?
