Animated Textures in 2.65a ?

Animated Textures work very well in the current Trunk release.
But when I test the Scene with the official 2.65a, then the Texture is shown as a pink surface, but the file is not missing.

So my question is: Does Blender 2.65a actually support animated Textures yet ?

as i remember trunk is always more advance then the official version!
