Animating a ribbon that could follow sharp angles?

Hi all,
I have been trying several strategies to make a ribbon (or belt or strap) that could be animated AND that could make sharp angles, say like a ribbon around a gift box or a cube (I am not considering the knot for the moment)
I have tried with Bezier curves + armature + splineIK + control bones (see attachement). This works fine but I found curves are not suitable to make sharp angles. In addition if I use 10 control bones I have to keyframe each of them independently, unless I missed something here.
Any advices to do that ?

Why would simply animating the spline not work?

Yep!, exactly what I am using: a mesh with disconnected bones and even unparented bones, so that all parts of the belt move independently and precisely. But I thought there was something clever to try that I wasn’t aware of…

Amazing ! So as far as I understand I have to define a path for each bones. I have to study this. If you know a tutorial that describes this, please let me know.

You can animate the hook bones also directly, but i think with a follow path you have more control
You can also add hook bones to control the path curves to get the ultimate control.

Sorry i dont know any tutorial, i did this file by myself.
The best way to get good rigging skills is try and error in my view and ask questions.
