I’m definitely learning a lot from this forum. Thanks to all.
Anyone have soem notion as to what’s happening and how to correct the following …?
Testing an anomation, in which I have my mannequin smoking a cigar. The particles do not start emitting until frame 1100 or so. Between frames 1200 - 1500, the mannequin moves the cigar. I have the particle parented to the cigar, so it follows, as expected.
When I go back to frame 1, the particles are all in their original location, but when I render (either single frame or a sequence), the render contains the particle path. Any ideas how to clear it out from the final renders?
Actually, I wasn’t using a path; at least, not yet. I had parented the emitter to an object, inserte locrot keyframe, moved the parent, inserted another locrot keyframe. I know it’s a cheat. that’s part of learning, and it seems to work for this animation.
The blend file is currently 15M; I’ll strip out all but the particle and cigarette, and post that, if that would suffice.
Okay, I grouped all except the cigarette, the 2 emitters, and the table, and deleted them. to make sure the problem was still present, I did a quick render of a random frame, and teh particle trail still showed prematurely. Because I had forgotten to save my project first (oops! :o), I undid teh deletion, and did a test render. Now teh particle trail is gone. I tested in a few different keyframes, as well as a quick 150-frame animation. The deletion / undo seems to have cleared it…
Thanks to all that take the opportunity to look. And please excuse the crudeness (i.e. lack-of-finesse) of some of the data structures in there… still learning the app. Plan to clean it up a lot as I get more proficient…
HI all. Was wondering if anyone was able to pull down the blend to see what might be up with why the particles are leaving a trail prior to their movement.
