Animating people on a moving ship

Hi all,

I’ve been using blender 2.81 for a while, and have an animation in mind which involves a ship and quite a lot of people walking around on it.

I figure I’ll link the ship blend nto the scene so I can animate it easily all as one object and then put each of the people onto it. I know how my rigs work for the people.

Question is - how would you guys get the people walking along to convincingly maintain their position on the ship while it moves in a direction?

HI, and welcome. It depends on your rig, you need to parent the root bone control to the boat and animate the characters other controls forward.
