Animating the lens of a camera (zooming in)

Is it possible to animate the lens value of a camera? Could someone point me to a tutorial?

Go to the frame number where you want to keyframe the lens value
Select the camera
Go to the camera properties settings
Select the lens value and with your mouse hovering over the value press I or RMB / Insert Keyframe
Go to another frame, change the lens value and repeat
