Animation playback very slow in v2.49

Hi everyone, I’ve been having an issue lately that I was hoping you could help me resolve. It seems that anytime I try to play an animation back or scrub through my animation it is very slow and unresponsive.

During playback I get about 2 to 4 fps with practically nothing happening in the animation. Using version 2.48 everything is nice and smooth and responsive, and I get 30 fps during playback. Without the sync button or scrub buttons pressed 2.49 also plays back smoothly at 30 fps.

Currently I’m just using v2.48 because I can’t deal with how slow it is in v2.49, but I’d like to be able to use the most recent version if I can get this problem dealt with. I’m experiencing this same issue on 3 separate computers (of varying specs), so any help you guys could give me would be enormously appreciated.

:edit: Should have also noted all 3 computers are running either Windows XP or Vista

Is anyone else having this issue at all or is it just me? I mean it’s to the point where trying to do lipsync or any sort syncing to an audio track is just downright impossible and I can’t imagine that this is normal.

It certainly doesn’t sound normal to me, I’d report a bug at projects.blender.org

Yeah, I’m having same problems - anyone have any ideas? I may have to go back to 2.48! :frowning:
I’m on Windows XP. Actually I tried reverting back to 2.48, then 2.47 and video playback in the VSE is
still slow (12 second QT video clip @ 25 fps plays perfectly in Quicktime but takes almost 15 seconds
in VSE with fps set to 25 in VSE! Anyone having the same problems? Tried it on both my machines running
XP and same result!

I’m also experiencing this problem. On both of my computers. It seems I’ll need to revert to 2.48a too until 2.5 comes out. :frowning:
